We do still have to follow certain rules, so we therefore appreciate your patience.

  • Only 1 key will be handed out per day.

  • Please do not enter the Waterloo Monument, or come and pick up the keys, if you or anyone within your household is showing Covid-19 symptoms or have been asked to self-isolate.

  • The key is for your use only and not to be handed to anyone else.

  • Masks should be worn when in the company of other members of the public.

Holiday Accommodation

... at a glance

The Lothian Wing

The Lothian Wing wing was built on the original foundation stones of the 17th century kitchens, to serve as the private apartment of the late Lord and Lady Lothian. The addition initially had a thatched roof until in recent years when replaced by tiles. The doors and window frames complement the existing castle so the Lothian Wing blends in perfectly. Some original features remain; one of the great ovens can still be seen in the modern kitchen area and the downpipe is decorated with the ‘Sun in Splendour’, the Clan Crest of the Kerrs.

Monteviot Stables West

Monteviot Stables West is our 5-Star holiday home that sits within the grounds of Monteviot House. With stunning countryside views and access to Monteviot's famous gardens, Stables West is the perfect getaway for all. It is available to the public all year round and can be booked via Crabtree & Crabtree.

Ferniehirst Castle

Ferniehirst Castle is home to Lord Ralph Kerr, the 13th Marquis of Lothian's brother, and his family. The castle has recently been restored, and now welcomes you to stay for a spectacular, historical holiday.
